Terms and Conditions for Carpet Cleaners NW5

Professional carpet cleaning terms and conditions introductionThese Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which carpet cleaning services are provided by Carpet Cleaners NW5 to residential and commercial customers. By making a booking, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms. They are designed to make the service clear, fair and practical, while reflecting standard UK service expectations and consumer protections. In these terms, references to “we”, “us” and “our” mean the service provider, and references to “you” and “your” mean the customer or person placing the booking. These conditions apply to all carpet cleaning appointments, stain treatment requests, upholstery add-ons where offered, and any related labour carried out as part of the agreed cleaning service.

1. Scope of Services
We provide professional carpet cleaning services intended to remove soil, odours, stains and general build-up from carpeted areas using suitable cleaning methods chosen for the carpet type and condition. The specific method, estimated duration and any extra treatments will depend on the material, level of soiling, access, and any special care requirements identified before or at the appointment. While we aim to improve appearance and freshness, no guarantee is made that every stain, mark or odour can be fully removed, especially where damage is old, permanent, chemically set, or caused by prior incorrect cleaning.

2. Definitions and Customer Responsibility
Customers must ensure that the area to be cleaned is ready for work to begin. This includes moving small personal items, securing valuables, and providing safe access to the property. If furniture moving is required, it must be agreed in advance. The customer remains responsible for confirming that the carpets are suitable for cleaning and that the service selected matches their needs. Where the customer gives instructions that conflict with our assessment of safety or suitability, we may refuse to proceed with those instructions.

Booking and appointment terms for carpet cleaning services3. Booking Process
Bookings may be made through the methods offered at the time of enquiry and are only confirmed once we accept the request. A booking may be subject to availability, a minimum charge, and confirmation of basic service details such as property type, room count, carpet condition, access, parking, and any known stains or odours. We may request photographs or additional information to provide an accurate estimate and to ensure the correct equipment and products are brought to site. Any quotation given before inspection is based on the information supplied by you and may change if the actual condition differs materially from what was described. We reserve the right to decline or reschedule a booking where the service requested is unsuitable, unsafe, or cannot reasonably be delivered within the agreed terms.

4. Appointment Times and Access
Arrival times are estimates rather than fixed guarantees, as traffic, parking, previous appointments and site conditions may affect timing. We will make reasonable efforts to attend within the expected window. If access is not available, if no one is present to provide entry where required, or if the property cannot be entered safely, the appointment may be treated as a cancellation and charges may apply. You must ensure that water, electricity and any other essential utilities needed for the service are available and functioning unless agreed otherwise.

5. Customer Information and Accuracy
All information supplied during booking must be complete and accurate. This includes the number of rooms or areas, the type of fibres or carpet construction if known, any recent spills, pet contamination, mould, damp, or fragile items on site. Failure to disclose material information may affect the quality of the result or the safety of the work. If inaccurate or incomplete information causes extra time, additional materials, or the need for a revised method, we may charge accordingly.

6. Payments
Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking or before work starts. Unless agreed otherwise, payment is due on completion of the service on the same day. We may accept card, bank transfer, cash, or another method communicated in advance. Any deposit paid to secure an appointment may be non-refundable in accordance with the cancellation terms below. Prices may be quoted as fixed amounts, hourly rates, or per-room/per-area charges depending on the scope of work. Additional charges may apply for heavily soiled carpets, stain treatment, protective products, difficult access, parking costs, or work requested beyond the original booking. If a quotation is based on a set number of rooms or items and the actual job differs, the price may be adjusted to reflect the work completed.

7. Late Payment and Non-Payment
Where payment is not made at the time required, we may suspend further work, withhold receipt or documentation, and recover reasonable costs associated with late payment. We reserve the right to charge statutory interest and compensation on overdue sums where permitted by law, particularly in business-to-business transactions. If a payment is reversed, declined, or disputed without valid reason after the service has been delivered, we may seek recovery of the full amount together with any related bank or administrative charges.

8. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving reasonable notice. If you cancel with sufficient notice before the appointment, no cancellation fee may be charged, unless a non-refundable deposit has been agreed. Short-notice cancellations, typically where the appointment is cancelled after the point at which time, staff or equipment have already been allocated, may incur a fee to cover lost time and costs. If we arrive and are unable to carry out the service because of inaccessible premises, unsafe conditions, or lack of cooperation necessary to complete the work, this may also be treated as a late cancellation or failed appointment.

Payment, cancellation and liability clauses for carpet cleaners9. Liability and Limitations
We will carry out the service with reasonable care and skill, as required by UK consumer law. However, because carpet cleaning involves water, heat, agitation and chemical products, some risk of minor changes in texture, pile direction, shade variation or temporary dampness may occur. We are not liable for normal wear and tear, pre-existing defects, poor installation, prior damage, colour loss caused by age or sunlight, or problems arising from unsuitable cleaning instructions given by the customer. We are not responsible for hidden faults, weak carpet backing, unstable seams, colour bleed, shrinkage, or fibre distortion where these issues arise from the condition of the item rather than from negligence on our part. Where a customer requests the cleaning of delicate, antique or otherwise vulnerable materials, that request is accepted at the customer’s risk unless we have expressly confirmed suitability in writing.

10. Property, Furniture and Belongings
Customers should remove or secure fragile, valuable, or easily damaged items before the appointment. Where furniture is moved as part of the service, this will be done only if it is reasonably safe and appropriate. We are not liable for damage to items that were already unstable, poorly assembled, or placed in a way that made movement unsafe. We may decline to move heavy, fixed, or high-risk items, including electronic equipment, large wardrobes, pianos, or other objects requiring specialist handling. Any floor coverings, underlays, trims or accessories discovered to be already defective are the customer’s responsibility unless damage is caused by our negligence.

11. Quality, Revisit and Complaints
If you believe a service issue exists, you must notify us within a reasonable time after completion so that we may inspect the concern. We may request photographs, evidence of the issue, and access to the relevant area. Where the service has not been performed with reasonable care and skill, we will normally seek to put matters right by re-cleaning the affected area or otherwise offering a proportionate remedy. This does not apply to issues caused by later use, re-soiling, spillages, flooding, or incorrect aftercare by the customer. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable law.

12. Waste Regulations and Disposal
Any waste created during the carpet cleaning process will be handled in accordance with applicable UK waste regulations and environmental requirements. This includes the responsible disposal of debris, used cloths, packaging, and any extracted waste where removal from site is necessary. We will not knowingly discharge harmful substances into drains or dispose of contaminated material in a way that would breach environmental rules. Where waste from the property includes hazardous or unusual materials, such as sewage contamination, biohazards, sharps, heavy chemical contamination or pest-related residue, the customer must disclose this in advance. We may refuse to handle such waste unless it has been properly declared and we are satisfied that the work can be completed lawfully and safely. Any specialist disposal, containment, or protective measures required because of undisclosed waste may be charged separately or may lead to cancellation of the appointment.

13. Health, Safety and Site Conditions
We may pause or stop work if the environment is unsafe, including where there is exposed wiring, excessive clutter, aggressive behaviour, unsafe flooring, inadequate lighting, or dangerous substances. The customer must ensure the work area is reasonably safe for operatives to enter and work in. We may use cleaning agents that are suitable for professional use and require normal ventilation. If children, pets or vulnerable persons are present, the customer should take suitable precautions during and after the service. Drying times are approximate and depend on ventilation, carpet type, weather and the method used.

14. Force Majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform services due to events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, illness, fire, flood, power failure, public emergency, industrial action, equipment breakdown, or unavailability of supplies. If such an event occurs, we will use reasonable efforts to rearrange the appointment or agree another appropriate solution.

Waste disposal and compliance terms for cleaning services15. Data and Privacy
Any personal information supplied in connection with a booking will be used only for administering the service, communicating about the appointment, processing payment, and handling legitimate service issues. We will treat information in accordance with applicable UK data protection law. We will not use your information for unrelated purposes unless permitted by law or agreed by you.

16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect operational changes, legal requirements, or improvements to our service. The version in force at the time of booking will generally apply to that booking unless a later version is agreed. If a change materially affects your appointment, we may notify you and allow you to confirm whether you wish to proceed under the revised terms.

17. No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a right under these terms, that does not mean the right has been waived. Any delay or failure to exercise a right does not prevent us from doing so later, and a waiver will only be valid if agreed in writing.

Governing law and acceptance of carpet cleaning terms18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising from or connected with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law provides otherwise. If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. The headings used in these terms are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.

19. Entire Agreement
These terms, together with any written quotation or confirmed booking details, form the entire agreement between the parties for the relevant service. No statement made before booking will override these terms unless confirmed in writing. Each booking is treated as a separate contract unless otherwise agreed.

20. Acceptance of Terms
By instructing carpet cleaners NW5 to carry out work, by confirming a booking, or by allowing access for the service to begin, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions. If you are booking on behalf of another person or organisation, you warrant that you have authority to do so and that the customer will be bound by these terms.
